LO2 Task 2 KTA 9: Cohesive Branding
V Festival Branding and advertising...
By looking at the branding the V Festival they use the consistent colours throughout the designs, which shows that in my designs i need to keep in a consistent house style.
This gives me some idea to some exciting brands of the festival. This gives me some idea in to how I will brand and capture my target audience's attention.
These are a successful pieces of graphic design because the are related to targeting the audience, by using black and red fonts making the information in red really stand out making the audiences first glance at the poster, ticket etc is to the red font, which is the important information of when the tickets where on sale. The advertisement of the bands playing at the festival uses a lot of white space drawing your attention to just the text. Where as on the poster uses a bunch of people around where they tell you what bands will be playing at the festival to draw your attention to the information in the box, using the type of atmosphere of crowded people that will be exactly like at the festival, to draw attention to the information. Making the red font in the banners stand out to the audience even more.
The images they use a kind of clip art and cartoon kind of images, this could mean that thy are trying to aim at a younger ages with their advertising as older people want images of the real thing and past events to show them hat it is actually like, where as teenagers would be drawn in by the bright colours they use and the cartoon images as they make it seem like a joyful atmosphere to be in, as it uses it as a background on a field making with the sun image draw the audience in by using imagery to to tell you that you will have nice day out in the sun at the V Festival.
The logo targets the audience of teenagers and young adults by using a bright red could and casual kind of sans serif font to make the festival come across as laid back and the red could connote to the audience that it will be a place to share your passion with music.
This is another festival that is successful in graphic designs they relate to their target audiences, by using very edgy text to make sure they capture the right target audience by showing them through the fonts they use what genre's their music will be.
The also use really dark colours on the background relating to the theme of the festival of rock, targeting the right audience.
The red could connote danger showing the audience an insight into the festival.
Where as the white would be in contrast to the red they use showing the clean and nice atmosphere at the festival.
The Isle of Wight festival uses a serif font which shows its something out of the ordinary, something different to some other festivals. The way the spirals and swirls are in the background could connote that its by the sea and really relaxed. This targets their audience by using relaxed colours. The gradient of the title could connote the sunset or sunrise saying, that the festival is on while late, with the circle the bird is in could connote the sun. The designs target a older audience than Download and V Festival as they don't us bold colours, they use a more calmer and relaxing colours that compliment each other. They use, the blue outline on the words, which could connote the island that the festival is held on with the sea surrounding the island.
here are some of the flyers i have picked up to look at other existing designs out there in the design world. These designs are very bright and eye catching and are out to catch the audiences attention. However they use similar colours throughout their designs.

LO2 Task 2 KTA 8: Steel City Fest Designs
These are my designs for the Steel City Fest this is my A5 Flyer, and ticket design. They both use a similar house style to each other so you can tell they are from the same event. This shows a consistent design through my promotional material which will make it more rememberable to the person viewing the promotional material.

LO2 Task 2 KTA 8: Steel City Fest Logo Drafts
This is where I will upload a few of the designs I did for the 'Steel City Fest'. I designed these logo's on Photoshop with the filter option, blending tools, text, eraser etc.The tools on Photoshop can gave me a variety of different effects to the text and images I chose to use. Here are some of the designs i thought off.
This was my first draft idea for the Steel City Fest. I think this design is very simple, using a font which matches the genre of the music i want to be played at the festival as my festival will be a metal and rock festival I have used a very edgy looking sharp font. The word 'City' in the logo has the city blended into the word to give more of a unique look to the logo. The Logo is a sans serif font which fits the style of music, artists and location i want at my festival.

This design was also done in Photoshop using the same font as before because I think the font really fits in with the festival theme of steel and rock. In this design I used the noise tool to see if it fit the them of the festival as the festival will be quite loud and heavy, so I thought with all the bits being rather noisy it would represent the festival well.

LO2 Task 2 KTA 6: Customer Profile
The genre of my music festival will be a Rock/Metal with the five main headline artists as:
Bring Me The Horizon
Def Leppard
Pulp
Dead Sons
Arctic Monkeys

I'm Olivia. Olivia Green. As you can probably tell from the name, I'm a girl. I study Music Studies at The University of Sheffield. I am also 19 years old and have been a fan of Rock and Metal music since the age of 14, where I caught this interests of my parents. My favourite band of all time would have to be either Bring Me The Horizon or Arctic Monkeys, they are amazing, and i own like every album! I can't wait to see the Arctic Monkeys and Bring Me The Horizon at their next gig's, front row tickets and everything. I basically live for gigs and festivals, and work at New Look at every chance I get to feed my obsessions with Music, Concerts and Festivals. Concerts and Festivals in Sheffield are the best for me though, feels like i fit in here, where my Favorite bands and music come to my hometown, feels like i'm not alone with my music taste.
In my own spare time I write songs, not anything like rock or metal though. Slow steady songs, never shown anyone them though, I'd get stage fright. One day I wish to be on stage performing at Gigs and Concerts, performing for people who love my music, and the things I have to offer. Just maybe one day i'll be on stage doing the thing I love the most.
